BIOGRAPHY
Anna Sofie Blincoe was born on the 10th of May 1972 in a small town called Kerteminde in Denmark. However, shortly after her birth Anna and her parents moved to Malaysia as her father was working as a manager in the plantation industry.

Spending the first 6 years of Anna's life in Malaysia was a tropical paradise. She explains that this has been the core of her inspiration for her paintings and her whole life. In 1978 Anna and her familiy moved to England, Cornwall, where her experience of nature, colour, and the outdoors, however different from the tropics, added to her experience of life. Her father, however, continued to work in the Far East and Anna regularly visited him untill the age of 18 and her fathers retirement.

After Anna's first home in Cornwall, she moved to London and experienced the hectic life of the city. This was a difficult time for her and was greatfull to move to Oxfordshire 3 years later. It was here in a small town called Henley-on-Thames that she started on her career as a painter. She knew with all her heart that a painter she would be.

Anna completed her A' levels in 1990 and after a foundation course in Oxford, she moved back to Cornwall in order to start her education at Falmouth College of Arts, where graduated in 1994 with a degree with honours.

Falmouth, Cornwall - a town nearly surrounded by water, this is what Anna felt. Every hill you walked over there was a view of the sea or of a river. Soft hills and rough seas caught her attention - she was home. Nature in abundance and people full of kindness.

It was only in her third year at Falmouth College of Arts, that she discovered the world of the flower. Anna's fascination and love for the flower grew to such an extent that it is still her focal point in her painting today. It is not just the flower that has captivated Anna in her painting, but also her love for nature, for water, basically the love for life and that life can create such magic and beauty.

In 1994 with her degree Anna decided to move to Denmark, to her birthplace. It is here that Anna now lives and works in the beautiful city of Copenhagen.

Anna continues to work towards capturing the universe within the flower, in combination with her own experiences of nature, her travels, and her childhood memories of the Far East.
